Gov’t orders review of IT contracts

The government has ordered a complete review of state IT procurement contracts signed between January 1, 2008 and June 30, 2010, the daily Világgazdaság reports. The extensive audit is said to be a prerequisite of consolidating the currently fractured IT infrastructure of the state administration. The process, supervised by National Development Minister Tamás Fellegi will be concluded next April. As a result of the streamlining, the government hopes to achieve considerable savings as well as the enhancement of efficiency. (BBJ)
