Govt makes HUF 930m available for development of rural homesteads and infrastructure

The government has made HUF 930 million available for the development of rural homesteads and infrastructure in Hungary, Ministry of Rural Development State Secretary József Ángyan announced on Thursday.

Ángyan said that the government would make HUF 730 million available to local councils and social organizations for the improvement of rural infrastructure, including maintenance of rural roads and purchase of related machinery, while it would make HUF 200 million available for the development of rural homesteads, including solar- and biomass-energy developments.

The state secretary said that homestead owners would have to pay 25% of the cost of projects receiving funding, while local councils would have to pay 10%.
