The government has established an inter-ministerial committee to manage big investments in the country and prepare government decisions on subsidies for them, a decree published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny shows.
The government supports big “priority projects” by foreign investors with subsidies decided on a case-by-case basis.
The committee will express opinions from the point of view of the national economy and make proposals to the government, through the national development minister. The committee may also make proposals to offices or institutions involved with such investments.
The committee is headed by state secretary in charge of coordinating development policy at the National Development Ministry. Its other members are the chief state secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, the state secretary in charge of foreign trade and investment at the National Economy Ministry, the administrative state secretary at the Rural Development Ministry and the administrative state secretary at the Administration and Justice Ministry.
