The government on Wednesday approved a HUF 32 billion, EU-supported sewerage investment in the city of Érd, south of Budapest, the Environment Ministry told MTI on Friday.
The sewerages of Érd, as well as the neighboring towns of Tárnok and Diósd, will be expanded, raising the number of homes with sewerage access from 7,310 to 36,286, or 95% of homes in the area. Capacity of the sewage treatment plant in Érd will be raised to 15,000 cubic meters.
Now that the government has given the go-ahead for the project, the National Development Agency will submit it to the European Commission for approval.
Some HUF 24.5 billion will come from the Environmental and Energy Operative Program for the project, which will start in 2009 and be completed in 2012. (MTI-ECONEWS)
