Generali-Providencia and Aegon receive 60% of claims for earthquake damage

Insurance companies Generali-Providencia and Aegon have received 59.2% of the 8,481 claims for damages stemming from the January 29 earthquake in Hungary, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISz) informed MTI on Thursday.

The insurance companies told MTI that Generali-Providencia's 2,122 claims were worth a combined HUF 487 million, while Aegon's 2,900 claims were worth a combined HUF 270 million.

MABISz said that according to preliminary data the total value of the 8,481 claims for damages stemming from the earthquake, which measured between 4.2 and 4.8 on the Richter scale, are worth around HUF 1 billion. (MTI-Econews)
