Major lunch provider Food Express Kft is to build its new food production plant in Ercsi, southwest of Budapest, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported.
Construction of the factory, which will be able to produce 500,000 lunches, is to start in July, and test runs are expected to begin by the end of the year. Representatives of the company have recently signed the contract with the local municipality about the purchase of the land. According to Ercsi mayor József Bátki, the plans are to spend Ft 800 million on the construction of the 6,000-8,000 square meter production hall. Food Express has some 40,000 permanent clients in 270 towns and cities, and their net revenues exceed Ft 3 billion.
