Fluvius to expand river cargo fleet

Fluvius Hajózási és Szállítmányozási, the largest Hungarian-owned international river-freight company, will increase the size of its fleet of self-propelled cargo vessels from the current 5 ships to 8-12 over the comingyears, according to the economic daily Világgazdaság.

Fluvius plans to add the new cargo boats, which cost a minimum of €3 million, at a rate of two vessels per year beginning in 2007 after purchasing one new watercraft both this year and last. Fluvius plans to increase the share of goods shipped on its own vessels from the current 60% to 70-75% of the company's total transports.(Econews)
