Flextronics cuts contract workers at Zalaegerszeg unit

Flextronics said it has laid off some of its contract workers at its Zalaegerszeg unit (W Hungary) due to the seasonal fluctuation in orders for electronic products.

MTI has learnt that Flextronics employs around 1,000 fewer workers in Zalaegerszeg than before last week. The company now employs around 9,000 workers in the city. The number of employees is well above its level at the beginning of this year in spite of the lay-offs.

Flextronics operates five units in Hungary-in Budapest, Sarvar, Pecs, Tab and Zalaegerszeg.
