Hungarian Finance Minister Péter Oszkó supports proposals by road haulage professional associations to keep fuel-savings tax exempt and not to raise the air spring vehicle tax; nor would he reject their proposal to introduce a special professional price for diesel, the Finance Ministry said.
The ministry made the statement after Oszkó met for talks with president of the Hungarian road haulage association György Waberer following a meeting the national interest coordination council (OET) on Friday.
The government will request derogation from the EU allowing a special price for diesel for haulage companies to be introduced, Oszkó said.
Proposed legislation would eliminate the tax exemption for fuel-savings and raise the excise tax on fuel. (MTI – Econews)
