The two major fast food chains active in Hungary, McDonald’s and Burger King are seeing their results stagnating this year and are expecting similar results in the upcoming period as there are no obvious factors that could lead to boosted demand.
Responding to the economic pressures, customers are typically seeking out cheaper products so the greatest changes were experienced in the turnover of budget meals, said Attila Pap, marketing director of Fusion Zrt, the super franchise owner for Burger King. McDonald’s finance director László Szabó had similar experiences to share.
