EvoBus sales increase 53% in 2005

DaimlerChrysler's exclusive dealer for buses in Hungary EvoBus Hungária Kft sold 53% more buses in 2005 than a year earlier, far more than the nationwide 1.3% increase in bus sales, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Wednesday.

EvoBus Hungária sold 52 Mercedes and Setra buses to urban, suburban and long-distance transport companies in 2005. It also sold 59 used buses in 2005, compared to just 12 a year earlier.

Austria's Pappas group owns two-thirds of EvoBus Hungária, and Germany's EvoBus, a unit of DaimlerChrysler, owns the rest. DaimlerChrysler's global bus sales increased 10% in 2005.
