The European Commission has cleared a HUF 21.6 billion railway development project in the Záhony region (NE Hungary) for support, the National Development Agency (NFÜ) told MTI on Wednesday.
The Commission approved 85% European Union funding for the project, which involves the renovation of almost 43km of broad-gauge railway.
Hungary aims to turn the Záhony region into a logistics hub for the entire region.
