Electronics maker Epcos, the Hungarian unit of Japan's TDK-EPC, will build a HUF 960 million production hall for the manufacture of aluminum electrolyte condensers at the company's base in Szombathely (W Hungary), Epcos CEO Balázs Takács announced on Tuesday.
Epcos won HUF 260 million in European Union support for the investment through a Regional Development Operative Program tender.
The company plans to hire more than 200 new employees to work at the 3,750-square-meter production hall following its expected completion in July.
Takács said that Epcos is planning to conduct HUF 4.5 billion in investments at the company's production base at the Claudius Industrial Park in Szombathely over the coming years. The company currently employs 2,000 workers.
