Elanders has entered into a three-year agreement with Electrolux concerning the production of user documentation for Electrolux. The value of the contract is estimated at around Swedish krona 250 million for the entire period.
Elanders AB and AB Electrolux have signed a three-year exclusive contract concerning the production of all user documentation (manuals etc.) for products manufactured by Electrolux units in Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
Volumes in 2006 were around one billion pages annually divided among some 20 factories. “This is a strategic deal for Elanders and will lead to a creative partnership. Production will be handled by both our business areas, which will create excellent conditions for optimal deliveries to Electrolux. We will not only produce printed matter for Electrolux, we will help them develop the process surrounding documentation in order to find better and more cost effective solutions. In practice this means we will establish DDCs (Document and Distribution Centres) in different places in Europe starting in Italy and in the area around Wroclaw in southern Poland,” says Patrick Holm, President and CEO at Elanders.
“Electrolux factories currently have different order systems connected to different suppliers. By working together with Elanders we will now have a supplier and a strategic partner with total responsibility,” says Christina Näsholm, European Purchasing Manager for Electrolux. Cooperation will unfold according to a fixed time schedule for the various production units. This process is expected to be implemented during the next two years and completely up and running at the latest in 2009. The value of the contract is estimated at around MSEK 250 for the entire period.
