Eight companies purchased a combined 60,000sqm of space at the Győr industrial park in the second half of last year, park managing director László Balogh told MTI.
Companies took a wait-and-see attitude in the first half of last year but the plot purchases were picking up in the second half of 2010, he said.
Following the announcement last year of Audi's plans to expand its investment in Győr, several foreign companies expressed interest in opportunities to acquire land in the industrial park, Balogh said. These talks are, however, yet in an initial phase, he said.
Last September Audi Hungaria announced a €900 million investment at the plant which will boost the number of cars it makes to 125,000 from 2013.
Balogh said several of the companies, including the frozen food distributor Matusz-Vad Kft, are to start their investments this year, while those of other companies such as pane- glass maker Síküveg Kft and plastic injection moulding company Weis Hungária Kft are already underway. (MTI – Econews)
