Three companies are interested in buying Hungarian business weekly Figyelő from Sanoma Budapest. Among them, Econet.hu has the most experience in the media industry as its media business Est Média Group owns the Est-lapok, Neo FM and Radio Café, Napi Gazdaság reported. The companies have to make their offers within a week.
Econet President Csaba Balázs has not confirmed nor denied the information of the business daily. He added though that Econet is interested in good brands and has experience in acquisitions.
Sanoma has been trying to sell Figyelő for quite a long time now, but wants to keep fn.hu - which could be the cause of the lengthy sale process, Napi Gazdaság says. Media products that have no online versions are not viable these days, the paper notes.
