DNV Hungary revenue grows 10% in 2006

The Hungarian unit of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a Norwegian certification consulting company, recorded a 10% revenue rise in 2006, DNV Hungary Kft said on Thursday.

The company said its pre-tax profit rose significantly on 2005 due to efficiency improvement without revealing figures. Econews calculated that DNV Hungary had revenue of about Ft 600 million in 2006, considering the company said its revenue rose 12% in 2005 over 2004's Ft 486 million, as published by the Company Court.
DNV Hungary said it had expanded its position on the market, issuing certification for 15% of the 9,700 certified companies in Hungary, making it the second biggest certifier in the country. The company noted that the expansion came on a shrinking market due the elimination of earlier state subsidies for businesses to become certified last year.
DNV employs 70 staff in Hungary.
