Digital terrestrial TV audience expected to rise to 200,000 next year

The Hungarian audience for terrestrial digital television programs is expected to rise to 200,000 next year from 150,000 today, a senior manager at Antenna Hungaria told a media conference on Wednesday.

Rudolf Kárpáti, the program distribution director of terrestrial transmissions company told a conference in Tihany in western Hungary that the trend would accelerate when “an official announcement is made about the exact date of a full switch-over” to digital broadcasts.

Digital terrestrial coverage of the country is currently 95%, with a technology allowing a 3% increase over the next year, Kárpáti said. (MTI-Econews)
