Meat processor Délhús Rt is realizing a greenfield investment project worth Ft 2.5 billion by building Central Europe's largest and most modern dry-food processing plant in Alsómocsolád, southwest Hungary, business daily Világgazdaság reported. The plant will be operational by summer, creating 60-80 new jobs. The aim of the investment is to increase capacity, but the products of Pick Szeged Rt, a holding of Délhús, will not be relocated to the new plant.
Délhús has more than 1,400 employees in three plants in Pécs, Baja and Alsómocsolád. The dry-food processing plant is the last major investment made within the Ft 1.3 billion development project started last year. In 2004, Délhús invested a total of Ft 3 billion in various capacity-enhancing projects.
