Decline of new cars registered in Hungary slows in May

The number of new cars registered in Hungary dropped 24% yr/yr in May, slowing from a decline of 44% yr/yr in March, the Hungarian Vehicle Importers Association (MGE) informed MTI.

MGE said that the data, which the association compiles in cooperation with DataHouse, shows that the number of new cars registered in Hungary dropped 37% yr/yr during the first five months of 2010.

The association of vehicle importers said that a lack of financing in Hungary continues to impede sales of new vehicles, particularly passenger cars and motorcycles. (MTI – Econews)
