German cosmetics and household products chain Schlecker will close down its 22 shops in Hungary soon, the economic daily Napi Gazdaság reported.
Schlecker informed its suppliers of the measure a few days ago but the exact day of the withdrawal is not yet known, the paper reported.
The discount chain entered the Hungarian retail market at the beginning of 2006. At present it has 22 shops in the country, including 12 in Budapest.
The paper noted that the two leading cosmetics and household products chains in Hungary, dm and Rossmann have several hundred shops. (MTI – Econews)
