Zalai Baromfifeldolgozó laid the cornerstone on Friday for a greenfield investment to build a HUF 1.5 billion poultry-processing plant southwestern Hungary, company managing director Tibor Bedő announced.
Zalai Baromfifeldolgozó started construction of the 4,000-square-meter plant in the village of Pacsa with the involvement of 90 turkey and 30 chicken farmers.
The company will finance HUF 401 million of the cost of the plant through a grant obtained in 2008, paying for the rest of the investment through HUF 300 million in self-financing and bank loans.
The plant, which is expected to be completed by September, will directly employ around 200 workers and will indirectly employ 1,000-1,200 people. (MTI-Econews)
