A more controlled environment with better defined terms on handling payment arrears is essential to helping the already troubled construction sector, the national association of Hungarian contractors ÉVOSz said in a manifesto.
According to ÉVOSz, private clients would have to be held to stricter deadlines of acknowledging the performance of contracted jobs. An independent expert opinion would be solicited if questions about the completion occur, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported. Dusting off a former idea, ÉVOSz also suggests that contractors could file a mortgage on the property they have worked on in the value of the unpaid work. (BBJ)
