Construction industry output in volume terms rose a working-day adjusted 13.8% in the twelve months to March 2006, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Thursday.
According to seasonally and workday-adjusted figures, March output of the sector rose 5.1% from February. Unadjusted construction industry output increased 15.1% year on year in volume terms in March and rose 7.9% year on year in January-March. In 2005 the sector's output rose an unadjusted 16.6%. Orders held by construction companies at the end of March 2006 were up 4.1% in volume terms from a year earlier. The volume of new orders signed in March was up 18%. Cost-based construction industry prices rose 5.4% year on year in March and were up 0.7% from February.
