Construction output up 12.8% yr/yr in January

Construction industry output rose 12.8% year-on-year in volume terms in January 2006 after adjustment for differences in the number of working days and was up 0.3% from December 2005, according to the seasonally and working-day adjusted figures the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Monday. 

According to unadjusted figures, January output was up 14.1% year-on-year. Output of the biggest building industry branch, finished structures and civil engineering, increased 18.7% year-on-year. Output of the finished construction branch was up 39% from January 2005, and output of the building installation branch decreased 1.8%.


Hungarian construction industry output expanded 16.6% in 2005 after a 5.8% rise in 2004.
