Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) on Wednesday said it fined the Hungarian unit of UK supermarket chain Tesco HUF 8 million for unfair business practices.
Tesco failed to stock some products it advertised in flyers between September 2008 and March 2009, GVH said. Other products did not have the same properties as those advertised in the flyers.
Tesco acknowledged that some of the products advertised were unavailable in some of its stores.
GVH took into account the fact it had reproved Tesco several times before when deciding on the size of the fine.
Tesco decline to comment on the GVH resolution when asked by MTI. (MTI-Econews)
