MÁV-TRAKCIÓ, the traction unit of state-owned Hungarian railway company MÁV, expects a HUF 1 billion closed fuel dispenser system it has built to save it HUF 500 million in fuel costs in 2010, CEO Imre Márkus said at a press conference on Friday.
Diesel locomotives of MÁV-TRAKCIÓ its parent MÁV and passenger unit MÁV-START will be outfitted for the system by the end of 2009, Mákus said.
The system will allow MÁV-TRAKCIÓ to closely track fuel consumption. It will also eliminate spillage.
The MÁV group uses 70 million liters of diesel fuel a year. (MTI-ECONEWS)
