China's Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry has won a tender to deliver 60 vehicles to Hungary's state-owned long-distance bus company Volán with a bid of €9,866,000, or €164,000 per bus, the latest issue of the Public Procurement Gazette reveals.
Xiamen beat two other bidders in the tender. The runner-up was the Czech Republic's Viko, which offered to supply the double axle buses for €189,000 apiece and the triple-axle ones for €238,000.
Volán called the tender in two parts. The first part was for 20 double-axle low-floor buses and 40 triple-axle low-floor buses. The second part, which was declared without result, was for 15 smaller tourist buses. (MTI-ECONEWS)
