Chandler inventor launches website to reduce home energy costs

Many people want to save energy in their home, but don’t know where to start. HomeEnergyGeek.com was recently established to provide information and resources for homeowners to reduce energy costs and consumption.

The site contains a weekly ‘rant’ containing advice and perspective on how to reduce your home energy bills and help the environment at the same time. Increasing demand coupled with tightening oil supplies is causing an increase in energy costs. People are also concerned about the environmental effects of energy production, which include greenhouse gases, poisonous mercury emissions, etc.

The way to make the most immediate impact is to reduce energy use, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to sacrifice comfort. There are solutions available which can dramatically reduce home energy use, but most people are unaware that they exist, and are also unaware of the money-saving benefits. The author, Stephen Allen, hopes to shed light on energy-efficient solutions for the home, with real-world, tested advice.

“I am going to implement many of the energy-saving ideas in my home, where I can measure the savings, and also experience the benefit. It is my goal to point out areas where people can save energy without impacting their lifestyle.” - Stephen Allen.

HomeEnergyGeek.com is on-line and has a number of articles which apply to the average homeowner and changes they can make to reduce their energy bills and reducing their carbon footprint. (emediawire)
