Ceva-Phylaxia court battle takes new turn

Ceva-Phylaxia has to pay a license fee and interest of Ft 277 million to Phylaxia Pharma for vaccines it sells under a contract signed in 1991.

The Budapest Municipal Court of Appeal declared the ruling of the Budapest Municipal Court void, in which the latter had ordered, in a first-instance ruling, Ceva-Phylaxia Zrt to pay a license fee and interest of Ft 277 million to Phylaxia Pharma Nyrt for vaccines it sells under a contract signed in 1991, the legal representative of Ceva-Phylaxia Kornélia Kovács announced.

The Court of Appeal compelled the Budapest Municipal Court to initiate new legal proceedings in the matter. The court also ruled res judicata that the agreement, stuck in the early 1990’s about the transfer of rights from Phylaxia to Ceva to use some 200 vaccines, is binding. (Napi Gazdaság)
