The Budapest Stock Exchange's main BUX index rose 0.40% at 22,247.91 on Thursday as all blue chips opened with gains.
OTP Bank rose 0.99% to HUF 5,100, oil and gas company MOL gained 0.12% to HUF 20,720, drug maker Richter advanced 0.35% to HUF 43,200 and Magyar Telekom opened 0.15% higher at HUF 665.
Following Wednesday's losses, share prices could rise on the BSE on Thursday, analysts told MTI, adding that turnover will remain low.
CIB Bank's analysts noted that markets will be influenced by important macrodata and corporate news due out on Thursday. These include the US weekly jobless claims data due out in the afternoon.
Following Wednesday's correction, European futures point to a positive opening on Thursday, and the Chinese and US markets also closed higher.
The BUX closed down 0.69% at 22,160.20 on Wednesday, on turnover of HUF 11.5 billion. (MTI – Econews)
