The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index closed Tuesday trade up 0.92% on continued light turnover of HUF 9.94 billion.
The BUX gained 200.04 points to 21,945.90, fluctuating in a narrow, 0.98% range between an intra-session low at the index's opening mark of 21,747.91 and an intra-session high of 21,961.55 at 9:25 a.m.
The mid-cap BUMIX index also gained on Tuesday, advancing 7.04 points, or 0.36%, to 1,948.38.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Tuesday's closing bell:
OTP Bank gained 1.55% to HUF 5,230 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 5.62 billion;
Magyar Telekom advanced 1.48% to HUF 548 on a turnover of HUF 838 million;
Oil and gas company MOL gained 0.61% to HUF 21,280 on a turnover of HUF 2.17 billion;
Drug company Richter advanced 0.33% to HUF 42,790 on a turnover of HUF 947 million.
The BSE Big Four generated 96.32% of the exchange's composite Tuesday turnover.
Other major central and eastern European blue-chip stock indices finished mixed on Tuesday, with Prague's PX-50 gaining 0.87% and Warsaw's WIG-20 losing 1.43%. (MTI – Econews)
