Budapest scraps plans to transfer properties to state for BKV injection - paper

The Budapest local council has scrapped plans to transfer three properties to the state in exchange for a HUF 19 billion injection for public transport company BKV, business daily Napi Gazdaság said on Thursday.

Plans to transfer the Operetta Theatre, the area behind the Műcsarnok exhibition space and the Trafó House of Contemporary Arts were withdrawn on the initiative of mayor István Tarlós.

When Tarlós revealed the plans in February, he said the combined value of the properties was under HUF 19 billion.
