Budapest Airport, the operator of the capital's Ferihegy International Airport, has asked assistance from Interior Minister Sándor Pintér in a letter to restore the public order in the matter of the airport's taxi service, Budapest Airport communications director Mihály Hardy said.
Hardy said he could not reveal the contents of the letter but he complained that drivers for Zóna, which earlier held the taxi concession at the airport, are parking in restricted areas, pestering passengers and promising them lower fares than Főtaxi, which currently has the taxi concession.
Budapest Airport said last October that it cancelled its contract with Zóna. Főtaxi became the airport's new taxi service provider in December, after winning a tender. (MTI – Econews)
