Broadband subscriptions up, landlines recede

The number of broadband ADSL and cable subscriptions in Hungary rose 9,000 to 1,829,000 in May from the previous month, the National Communications Authority (NHH) said.

The number of broadband ADSL lines fell by 3,000 to 801,000, while the number of broadband cable subscriptions rose by 12,000 to 1,028,000.

The number of conventional landline telephone connections fell by 19,000 to 2,502,000 in May from the previous month.

The number of land lines per hundred people slipped to 30.13 from 30.19 one month earlier.

Total duration of calls initiated was 448 million minutes in May, about 4m fewer than in April. The total duration of initiated calls per landline rose to 148.8 minutes from 147.1 minutes. The average duration per call was 3.13 minutes. (MTI – Econews)
