The number of broadband DSL, cable and optical internet subscriptions in Hungary reached 2.027m in September, up 21,000 from the previous month, a fresh report by Hungary’s National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) shows.
The number of DSL subscriptions, which use conventional fixed line technology, was 798,000 in September, up 2,000 from the previous month. The number of cable subscriptions climbed 11,000 to 802,000 and the number of FTTH and FTTB subscriptions, which use optical technology, increased 5,000 to 247,000.
Magyar Telekom controlled 34.7% of the market in September. UPC was runner-up with a 21% market share and DIGI was in third place with 12.3%.
