British Airways finalize contract for 24 787 Dreamliners

Boeing Company said Thursday that it has finalized a deal with London-based British Airways on providing eight Boeing 787-8 aircraft and 16 787-9s, raising the total number of 787s ordered worldwide from 766 to 790.

The order is valued at $4.4 billion at list prices, although carriers always buy at discounts for sizable orders. British Airways also placed options for 18 787s and purchase rights for an additional 10. Boeing expects to fly the first 787 around the end of the first quarter of 2008 and begin deliveries in late November or December. (people.com.cn)
