Bombardier files suit against MÁV

Bombardier-MÁV Kft, the company contracted by state railway operator MÁV Zrt to maintain its Talent train engines, may file a lawsuit against MÁV for an unpaid HUF 250 million it refused to pay for a repair job in 2009, daily Népszabadság reports.

The Canadian-German-owned engineering company replaced faulty brake systems in train engines last year, which MÁV alleges shouldn't have broken down in the first place.

MÁV bought ten talent engines for €4.3 million apiece four years ago, but was forced to replace their brakes after 400,000 kilometers in service instead of the 600,000-700,000-kilometer lifespan guaranteed by Bombardier. (Népszabadság)
