BKV to buy GPS system for HUF 7 bln

Budapest public transport company BKV is buying a new GPS and passenger information system for HUF 7 billion from Synergon Kft, online portal Index reported. The system will be in put into operation by 2012 and the information it provides on every vehicle will be available on the internet, on mobile phones or digital displays at stations. BKV expects the new system to make fleet control more effective. Most of the investment is financed by European Union funds, the portal added.
