Bijou Brigitte Modische Accessoires AG, a German jewelry retailer, said full-year sales jumped 15% as the company added stores outside Germany.
Revenue rose to €347 million ($454 million) from €302 million a year earlier, the Hamburg-based company said today in an OTS newswire statement. Sales fell 0.7% at stores open at least a year. Bijou Brigitte, which sells items ranging from handbags to gemstones, added 119 outlets in 2006, raising the total number to 931.
The company said it still expects to report record profit for the full year. The 43-year-old company's sales have almost doubled in the past two years, and net income has gained more quickly as the retailer has become more profitable. (Bloomberg)
