German-owned B. Braun Medical wants to spend HUF 3 billion to expand its disposable medical supplies plant in Gyöngyös, deputy mayor Béla Réthy told MTI on Tuesday.
The company wants to use grant money to support the project, Réthy said.
B. Braun Medical has operated its plant in Gyöngyös for almost two decades. About 600 people work at the plant, but more than a hundred jobs would be created if the expansion is carried out, Réthy said.
The Gyöngyös local council has decided to spend more than HUF 9 million on infrastructure, such as public lighting, to accommodate the expansion, he said.
B. Braun Medical managing director József Bognár did not deny the planned investment when asked by MTI, but he declined to comment on it or the company's revenue and earnings. (MTI-ECONEWS)
