Authority fines Hankook Magyaroszág for impeding union activity

The Hungarian labor inspectorate fined Hankook Tire Magyaroszág, the Hungarian unit of Korean tire company Hankook, HUF 1 million (€3,646) for obstructing the operations of union officials at the company's plant in Dunaújváros, Hungary's federation of chemical- and energy-industry workers VDSz informed MTI.

VDSz told MTI that the labor inspectorate had fined Hankook Magyaroszág for preventing a union-federation official and member of the company's supervisory council from entering the plant, then relieving the official of his duties.

Hankook Tire Magyaroszág communications director Katalin Roy told MTI that the company would appeal the non-binding decision. (MTI – Econews)
