German carmaker Audi has turned out the ten-millionth four-cylinder petrol engine at its plant in Hungary, Audi Hungaria said on Tuesday.
The ten-millionth engine - a 2.0-litre 211 HP Global Engine - will go into a Q5 model for the Indian market.
Audi started making four-cylinder petrol engines at its base in Győr (NW Hungary) in 1994. At present, it turns out 3,000 of the engines a day.
Of the plant’s 7,300 employees, 1,400 work on the four-cylinder petrol engine line.
