ASA Hungary gets new owner

Spanish waste management service company FCC has bought ASA International Environmental Services GmbH from Electricité de France for €220 million, ASA Hungary Kft announced on Wednesday after the parties signed the deal in Madrid.

FCC, the seventh largest public utility company in Spain, bought ASA as part of its plans to enter the CEE market. The new owner’s professional orientation fits better with waste management developments, ASA Hungary’s managing director Attila Martin said. The company will be able to enter new segments, such as water management and sewage treatment, and the new ownership background will also aid it in tenders and acquisitions related to waste management, he added.
