The Public Procurement Arbitration Committee (KDB) has imposed a fine of HUF 5 million (€18,872) on ITD Hungary for accepting invalid bids and concluding contracts with applicants submitting such bids, the Public Procurement Board reported on its website over the weekend.
ITD Hungary called a public-procurement procedure in November 2008 for business-development activity in five locations including the east coast of the United States, Los Angeles, the Baltic States, Austria and France. Bids could be submitted by applicants with an expert possessing university-level qualifications, intermediate English-language skills and three years of business-development experience.
ITDH concluded the contracts for all five locations for the year 2009.
One year later, in November 2009, the Government Investigation Office (KEH) conducted an investigation of ITD Hungary in which it discovered infringements in the procedure, noting shortcomings in three of the submitted applications. (MTI-Econews)
