Alba Volan, one of 22 regional units of state-owned bus company Volan, will launch a HUF 467 miilion investment to improve its services, Alba Volan CEO Istvan Toth said on Wednesday evening.
Toth said that the company had won HUF 397.5 million in European Union grant for the investment via a Central Transdanubia Operative Program tender.
The Alba Volan CEO said that the investment will include establishment of an integrated dispatch- and scheduling-system, enhancement of passenger information, introduction of electronic tickets and passes and renovation of the company's station in Dunaujvaros.
Tenders for the investment, which is expected to take two years to complete, will be published later this month.
Alba Volan operates a fleet of 350 buses and employs 1,000 people. (Econews)
