Unions at Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport restarted a strike suspended in December at 16:00 on Monday, forcing the closure of the airport’s Terminal 1.
Terminals 2A and 2B continued to operate, though long lines formed in 2B.
Some Malév departures will take off in spite of the strike, but delays are expected, spokeswoman for Hungary’s national carrier Malév Krisztina Németh told MTI shortly before the start of the strike. Malév has 25 scheduled departures between 16:00 and midnight, she added.
Budapest Airport closed Ferihegy’s Terminal 1 from 16:00 on Monday because of the strike, but departures from Terminal 2 will continue, spokesman for the airport operator Domokos Szollár said. (MTI-Econews)
