Malaysia-based budget airline AirAsia X plans to start flights to Hungary, among other European destinations, from 2012 after it takes delivery of new aircraft, chief executive and founder Tony Fernandes told AFP.
Fernandez said AirAsia X would not give up plans to open new routes to Russia, Hungary and the Czech Republic on account of the eurozone debt crisis.
Established in 2007, AirAsia X is an affiliate of regional low-cost carrier AirAsia and Virgin Group. The airline has an expanding network with destinations in India, Taiwan, China, Britain, South Korea, Japan and Iran. AirAsia X plans to add French and US flights to its portfolio next year. (AFP)
