The operation of discount air carrier WizzAir has become profitable as of this summer, one year after it started out in Hungary in May 2004, the company announced. WizzAir sold 1 million tickets in the last six months. Last month, the company set a new record by carrying 196,289 passengers, while its planes were 90% full on average in the above period. Advance reservations indicate that even more passengers will use WizzAir in August, and flight utilization for September and October is at least 20% higher than in the same period last year, the company said. WizzAir has 26% of the Hungarian market.
