Wizz Air takes delivery of first new Airbus

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air took delivery of the first of its new
Airbus A320 at Airbus Industries' Toulouse plant at the weekend, business daily Világgazdaság reported. The airplane is the first of twelve A320 and A319 aircrafts, Wizz Air ordered from Airbus, with an option for a further twelve, in September 2005. Wizz Air will take delivery of the aircraft, which list for a combined $1.4 bln, between 2007 and 2010. Wizz Air will lease the new airplane for five and a half years from Aviation Capital Group (ACG), a subsidiary of Pacific Life Corp.
The A320 is fitted with an International Aero Engine and is identical to the other aircraft in Wizz Air's fleet. The new aircraft will start flying from Poland on December 1. Wizz Air CEO József Váradi noted that Wizz Air is first low-cost airline company from the CEE region to take delivery of a new A320.
